Website monitoring can be an easy task with ProtoMon. Follow these
simple steps to start monitoring your website within a few minutes:
-
Select the File -> Add Monitor -> Add HTTP Monitor menu item to
create a new monitor.
-
Specify the monitor name on the General tab of the monitor editor dialog.
-
Switch to the HTTP tab and configure the query parameters. Specify the
URL that ProtoMon should download at every check. Enable the Use SSL\TLS
option to use the secure connection (HTTPS protocol). Also you can specify the
username and password, if your website requires the HTTP authorization.
When you need to send a POST request, it's possible to specify the
POST data source. ProtoMon can use the typed string or load POST data from the
specified file.
-
The Proxy tab allows you to specify the custom HTTP proxy settings
for this monitor. When the Default HTTP proxy settings option
is selected, ProtoMon will use the default proxy settings, specified in the
program's preferences dialog. Leave the Host field blank to use the
direct connection without any proxy.
-
On the Redirects tab you can point out, how ProtoMon should manage the
HTTP redirects (HTTP errors 301 and 302). The program can fire an alert if the
final redirect doesn't navigate to the chosen URL.
-
ProtoMon can check the downloaded content, and trigger the alert, if this
content does not satisfy to the specified rules. Those rules consist of a
keywords or keyphrases that should (or should not) be found in the downloaded
content, joined together by logical operators and grouped by parenthesis.
-
Switch to the Alerts tab to configure the alerts which ProtoMon should
fire then website check fails.
-
Click the OK button to start your website monitoring process.
